Restoration Successes
PHASE 1
Work on the internal tower completed 1999/2000 at a final cost of £120,000
PHASE 2
High level works completed in 2005/2006 at a final cost of £343,800
PHASE 3
Works concentrating on the South Isle completed 2008/2009 at a final cost of £197,300
PHASE 4
Works concentrating on the North Isle started Spring 2009 at a cost of £200,000
In 2006 the Heritage Lottery Fund awarded £27,000 (Project Planning Grant) which enabled the
- Conservation Plan
- Audience Development Plan, and
- Access Audit
to be carried out. Church contribution to this amounted to £1,500.
PHASE 5
"Conserving and Sharing St Andrew's Church"
Major re-ordering work to include under-floor heating and photovoltaic cells. A part-time Education Officer to be employed.
Projected cost £588,000. Start date 2010.
During 2009 Heritage Lottery Fund awarded a Development Grant of £28,900 (Phase 5 Round One Pass).
Church contribution approximately £4,000.
English Heritage have contributed £500,000 and others, including the St Andrew's, £200,000 and this figure continues to rise.
